What skills and experience we're looking for
The children, staff and Governors of Coit Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic, experienced, committed and caring teaching assistant to work co-operatively in a specialist role in the school working with pupils across KS1 and KS2 with a variety of needs.
Coit Primary works with Ecclesfield Primary School in a federation structure and thus there are many opportunities to work alongside staff at both schools. Both schools are committed to nurturing staff to support the development of the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
You must
• Have gained an NVQ Level 2 qualification for classroom assistants or equivalent as a minimum requirement or working towards this an equivalent qualification
• Have good communication skills both written and verbal
• Be expected to work closely with external multi-disciplinary teams
• Have previous experience of working within an inclusive team
• Have a passion for working with pupils with a variety of needs
• Have knowledge or experience of following SEN assessments and differentiated plans
• Be able to undertake specialist teaching duties on a 1:1 and small group working with children across F2/KS1 and KS2
• Be a motivational communicator for children of all abilities ensuring learning is engaging and inclusive
• Have an enthusiastic commitment to an integrated, therapeutic approach and ethos
• Be an innovative classroom support with a commitment to promoting the inclusion agenda
• Be very flexible and adapt quickly to change
• Have a willingness to undertake training
• Have a sense of humour
