HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA)
Hours: 32 hours per week, term time only (to cover Maternity leave)Actual Salary: £26,528 - £28,563Fixed Term Contract to start as soon as possible until 9th June 2026 (or until the substantive post holder returns, which may be earlier)Cavendish Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to help us achieve our academic, sporting and musical excellence. Our values are ‘Respect, Grow, Believe & Achieve.’ We aim to inspire lifelong learners. The post is to start as soon as possible. The hours are 32 hours per week, including planning time.
The successful candidate will provide appropriate support for pupils of all abilities within the classroom and as well as classroom cover through the school. You will support teaching staff with the children’s social, emotional and academic progress, delivering interventions to enhance pupils' learning and provide supervision and care of children at various times of the day.
We are looking to appoint someone who:
can provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate the progress of all learnershas a proven ability to plan, deliver and assess whole class learninghas proven ability to work well within a team
can establish productive working relationships with children, acting as a role model and setting high expectationswill provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learninghas excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoys working within a supportive teamis well organised, flexible and creativeis willing to participate fully in ensuring inclusion of all childrencan assist with the development and implementation of individual support plans and Personal Care programmes when necessaryFurther information regarding the post can be found in the job description and person specification.Cavendish Primary School is part of Horizon Academy Trust - a caring community of children, parents, staff and governors.
