Join Dementia UK as a Junior Lawyer and play a vital role in providing hands-on legal support across the charity. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified solicitor or barrister (or equivalent) with experience gained in-house or in private practice, who is looking to broaden their experience working alongside the charity’s senior legal professional.

You will review, draft and advise on a wide range of contracts, working with suppliers, research partners and other parties, ensuring the charity’s interests are protected.

Working directly with the charity’s most senior lawyer, you will maintain the contracts register, proactively monitor key contract dates and provide teams across the charity with legal assistance and support. Your role will also involve providing administrative and research support, alongside contributing legal insight to governance and compliance officers when they are preparing company policies.

You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on procurement, contract negotiation, due diligence and ensuring proper documentation of contracts. In addition, you will support legal research across a range of issues, maintain up to date template contracts, monitor relevant legal developments and assisting with wider day-to-day legal and administrative matters.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of contract law and demonstrable experience of reviewing contracts and of back-and-forth negotiations. You will also have a strong track record of carrying out legal research and experience of direct negotiations between multiple parties in time pressured or sensitive circumstances, whilst preserving key relationships and delivering organisational priorities.

You will demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach, contributing to a wide range of tasks within the Legal team to effectively support the charity in achieving its objectives, maintaining high personal integrity and quality work with careful attention to detail and accuracy.

We would love to hear from you! If you would like to find out more about the role, or have any queries, please get in touch with recruitment@dementiauk.org.
