Trainee Secretary
Edinburgh City Centre | fully office-based role
Permanent role | Full-Time Hours | Monday to Friday
Salary up to £25,000 per annum + benefits (depending on experience)

Search Consultancy are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading Law firm based in Edinburgh City Centre to recruit this brand new permanent role within their team following a promotion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive Administration & Secretarial support to a number of Partners & Associates within one of the departments.

This role would ideally suit a candidate in the early stages of their career who is looking to begin a career with a leading Scottish Legal firm on the Secretarial & PA support side of the business.

Duties involved in this role will include:
* Completion of Legal documentation, forms & correspondence on instruction from fee earners in a timely fashion
* Carrying out copy & audio-typing as required
* Handling incoming calls to the departments, dealing with initial queries, taking & passing on messages & referring calls to the appropriate person if required
* Ensuring that client files & the internal client system is accurately updated following any contact
* Various other Administration & Secretarial work as directed by the Support Manager & Partners

In order to be considered for this role your skills and experience should include:
* Prior Administration experience would be preferred, although this is not a pre-requisite for the role as full Secretarial training will be provided.
* Good keyboard & IT skills with excellent accuracy, as typing will form a considerable part of this role.
* Solid organisational & time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload effectively
* First-class communication skills, both written & verbal, with the ability to show empathy when dealing with sensitive situations
* Excellent attention to detail
