Are you passionate about bold flavours and expert techniques? The Saddle and Smoke, a smokehouse restaurant and bar, is looking for a skilled Sous Chef to join our team. Working closely with our Head Chef, you'll play a key role in crafting top-tier smoked meats and delivering unforgettable meals to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in all kitchen operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain our high standards.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and support ordering and stock management.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety practices in line with regulations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring teamwork and skill development.
- Contribute to menu development and innovation, particularly in smoked meats.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a restaurant kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of smoking techniques and meat preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards in food quality and kitchen management.
