Internal Sales Executive (Steel Industry), Dudley, Salary up to £40k + £6k OTE

My client is a manufacturing company producing steel products for a variety of industries. They are currently seeking to add to their sales team.

Job Summary: -
• The Sales Executive will be responsible for looking after existing & sourcing new customers.
• Key elements to your role/responsibilities will include: -
• Meet and exceed annual sales and margin targets set each year. Targets to be agreed with Sales Director. To monitor and report back regularly any movements.
• Maximise any customer enquiry both in terms of price and other services that can be offered or sold to maximise profitability.
• Perform all required sales activities in the office including answering telephone calls in a professional manner; taking enquiries from new and existing customers; making pro-active calls; quoting for customer requirements; raise and amend sales orders, back-to-back purchase orders and purchase requisitions; allocate stock; agree delivery dates taking into account current processing and transport availability; entering all relevant information on our internal system.
• Identify potential new business whilst maximising our opportunities with current customers.
• Process all orders through from the quotation to order entry and following them through to delivery.
• Respond tactically to changes in market conditions and core product performance, identifying trends in order to maximise opportunities and acting quickly to address any issues.
• For your allocated accounts keeping fully up-to-date on all relevant information, changes and requirements. This includes reviewing current and future stock requirements and ensuring there are sufficient purchase orders to satisfy customer demand.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with allocated sales accounts. Build trust and confidence with key personnel by acting with integrity, exceeding expectations and keeping promises.
• Work with the Sales Director in pursuing/developing all relevant business opportunities.
• Handle customer complaints / disputes and investigate thoroughly to establish the cause. Seek management advice on & take appropriate remedial action as necessary.
• Liaise with credit control to ensure sales accounts remain within terms.
• As and when required to entertain customers; attend any required training and courses, attend conferences and any other exhibitions and business events.

Job Description: -
• Act as an Exemplar salesperson and present a professional image, behaving in line with corporate values both internally and externally at all times.
• Ensuring all company policies and procedures are adhered to and are communicated to all operations staff.
• Support stock check including any reasonable duty required.
• Other tasks and activities as deemed necessary by the Sales Director.

Skills and Experience: -
• Experience of working in a reactive and busy sales environment.
• A background in B2B Sales would be advantageous.
• Experience of selling in the steel industry would be advantageous.
• Proven track record in achieving sales targets & KPI’s within a B2B environment.
• Excellent customer service and administration skills.
• The ability to work in a fast paced and busy environment whilst being able to multitask.
• Keen team player.
