Crynodeb
As a Band 5 Nurse at The Mike Cassidy Renal Unit at NUH, you are responsible for delivering safe, high-quality care to patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing haemodialysis. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans, ensuring they are responsive to patients changing clinical needs. Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will carry out dialysis procedures, monitor patient responses, and escalate concerns appropriately. You will be expected to manage a caseload of patients during your shift, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and ensure infection prevention and control standards are upheld. In the absence of senior staff, you may take charge of the unit, coordinating care delivery and supporting junior colleagues. You will also contribute to patient education, helping individuals understand their treatment and manage their condition effectively. The role requires strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development. You will participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and mandatory training.
