About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teacher of Geography & Humanities for a full-time position starting this September at a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wakefield. Essential Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography (KS3-KS4 essential; KS5 desirable).
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Essential Skills
- Ability to differentiate for a range of learners.
- Creative and engaging lesson planning.
- Strong assessment and feedback techniques.
- Data-driven teaching approaches.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- High standards of personal organisation.
Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and delivering engaging Geography and Humanities lessons.
- Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of some KS5.
- Assessing and tracking student progress in line with school policy.
- Creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Contributing to department meetings and collaborative planning.
- Leading or supporting curriculum enrichment activities or trips.
- Using data effectively to inform teaching and interventions.
- Communicating with parents and carers on student progress.
- Adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Embedding cross-curricular links between Geography and other Humanities subjects.
