Job Title: Public Health Service Support Admin Assistant

Pay rate: £13.26 per hour PAYE
The role:
We are seeking a dynamic and customer service focused Public Health Service Support Admin Assistant to undertake front desk reception and back-office admin duties managing inquiries from businesses and service users by phone, in person, and online.
You’ll be key to delivering the Council’s Customer Charter and supporting centre operations.
You’ll also provide vital financial and admin support to the Public Health team, helping drive health and wellbeing programs and campaigns for the community.
Please be aware that the successful candidate for this role will be required to work evenings and weekends as part of a rota.
Key responsibilities:
Serve as the main contact delivering person-centred support and efficient call handling with accurate recording and signposting
Provide key administrative support, including compliance tracking, report preparation, meeting coordination, and minute-taking, while managing bookings to enhance customer experience and revenue
Promote ‘make every contact count’ through brief interventions and referrals, support marketing and communications efforts, and mentor apprentices
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local services to offer effective guidance and handle business and finance tasks, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with council policies
What the client is looking for:
Achieved or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service, equivalent qualification, or relevant experience
Full driving licence or willing to travel to various sites
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Minute taking skills
Experience in a customer-facing role
Interest in Public Health and/or Business
Proficient in IT packages
Knowledge or experience in public health.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a helpful, can-do, problem-solving attitude
