Join Our Team – 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Upper School)Cardiff Steiner School is seeking a compassionate and committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a 15-year-old student with specific learning differences. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing, creative educational environment.About the Role:We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in supporting young people with learning differences and the confidence, understanding, and patience to help them thrive. You’ll provide individualised support across a broad range of subjects, supporting reading, writing, and arithmetic within these. Sensitivity and awareness are key - you’ll need to know when to step in, and when to encourage independent learning. We offer a unique and supportive working environment rooted in the Steiner Waldorf approach to education. What We’re Looking For:A recognised Learning Support or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), OR proven experience supporting students with their learningStrong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with studentsA calm, flexible approach and a commitment to inclusive, student-centred educationHours: 13.17 hours per week, term-time only over an approx. 36-week school yearCurrent hours are: Tuesday 11.30am-3.20pm, Wednesday 9.00am-3.20pm, Thursday 9.00am-1.00pm (subject to timetable)

The School offers a full Kindergarten to Class 12 Steiner Waldorf education from age 3 to 18/19. In Upper School we offer the Certificate of Steiner Education (NZCSE) rather than GCSEs and A Levels.
The NZCSE is an international secondary school qualification fully based on the Steiner curriculum. It’s a valid, alternative qualification, equivalent to A Levels and the International Baccalaureate, recognised by UCAS and accepted by UK and international universities.
