Summary
Position: Senior Engineer / Scientist – Process Development & Operations
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer or Scientist to support the development and implementation of advanced industrial effluent treatment technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pilot or full-scale plant operations, along with a strong background in process and plant design.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full project lifecycle—from R&D and feasibility studies to detailed design, commissioning, and operation of commercial-scale facilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the development of proposals, including technical input and cost estimation
• Lead or contribute to the design of full-scale process and plant systems
• Deliver presentations to clients and at industry conferences
• Participate in the commissioning and operation of demonstration plants both in the UK and abroad
• Operate and maintain pilot-scale and full-scale effluent treatment systems, including high-pressure and high-temperature units
• Manage laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
• Conduct chemical analyses and interpret process performance data
• Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed technical reports

Qualifications & Experience
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry)
• Demonstrated experience in operating pilot or full-scale chemical process plants—ideally within industrial wastewater treatment
• Familiarity with high-pressure and high-temperature systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in relevant IT tools, with experience in process design and simulation software (e.g. thermodynamic modelling, heat transfer, CFD)
• Client-facing experience and strong presentation skills
• Desirable: knowledge or experience in upstream/downstream oil & gas processes
• Desirable: familiarity with commercial contracts and proposal development

• Primary location: Milton Keynes
• Travel: Occasional UK travel for meetings and site work; international travel for short-term demonstration plant operations as needed
• Working hours: 8 hours per day (flexible); occasional out-of-hours work depending on project demands

Training on the operation of pilot plant and test facilities will be provided.
