Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Maths Teacher to join our specialist team at a small independent school supporting students with special educational needs. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, teaching small groups of no more than seven students in a calm and supportive learning environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a strong focus on individual progress and accessible teaching. You will have a secure understanding of the national Maths curriculum and be confident in adapting content to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEND, including autism, ADHD and social, emotional or mental health needs.
Key responsibilities include planning and delivering differentiated lessons, preparing students for functional skills or GCSE pathways, providing clear and constructive feedback, and using assessment to inform future teaching. You will also lead targeted interventions and support students to develop confidence and resilience in Maths. Working closely with support staff, you will help to create a consistent and structured classroom environment that promotes both academic and personal development.
You must be calm, flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to inclusive education. A background in SEN or experience of adapting teaching strategies to meet additional needs is highly desirable.
