Pay: £90 - £105 per day

Long Term Futures are excited to offer an opportunity for a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in Shepshed (LE12). This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, particularly those who may find mainstream education challenging.
Starting in September 2025, the position involves working across a range of year groups, focusing on behaviour support and emotional wellbeing, with a strong chance of moving into a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs in managing behaviour and engaging with learning
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to deliver tailored interventions and build emotional resilience
- Use de-escalation strategies and consistent routines to promote a positive learning environment
- Build meaningful relationships with students, staff and families
- Collaborate with teaching staff to track progress and contribute to student support plans
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be confident working with pupils who display challenging behaviour
- Have experience in education, care, youth work, or a similar setting (preferred)
- Be patient, reliable, and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
- Have a calm, nurturing approach and excellent communication skills
- Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate
