The role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Solicitor to support Legal Services in delivering expert legal advice and representation. This role is primarily focused on advocacy in Magistrates and Family Courts, managing civil orders and disclosure applications, and providing strategic legal guidance to police officers.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular advocacy at Magistrates and Family Courts
Legal research and briefings on criminal and civil matters
File preparation and management
Advising officers on police powers, disclosure, and legal procedure
Representing GMP in various hearings and legal proceedings
What the client is looking for:
Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
Strong experience in criminal law or police-related legal work
Advocacy experience in court settings
Excellent communication and research skills
Familiarity with legislation such as PACE, POCA, and HRA
Ability to manage sensitive information and high-pressure caseloads
