We currently have a position available within St David’s Catholic Sixth Form College for an enthusiastic Senior Science Technician who will promote and support the teaching and learning of science qualifications in order to secure outstanding outcomes. The successful candidate should be committed to leading a team of science laboratory technicians to ensure the provision of good quality technical support.
Job Overview
You’ll be responsible for the preparation of a range of materials and apparatus for the Science curriculum within teaching rooms for academic staff and students. As well as this, you’ll take pride in ensuring Science facilities are maintained to a high standard, conforming to Health and Safety standards whilst also assisting in auditing the use of facilities and equipment and maintaining the equipment stores.
Job Requirements
Science specific qualifications at A Level or equivalent.
GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to effectively monitor usage and standards of equipment and facilities.
Knowledge of relevant school policies and codes of safe practice within the classroom.
Job Details
The position is offered as a full-time, term time only role (85.38% FTE) on a permanent contract, and it attracts an actual salary of £23,472. (We will also consider 4 days a week, term time only.)
Shortlisting will take place the week beginning 16th June 2025.
