About the Role
Leeds Conservatoire is looking for an experienced live Production Events Technicians to join the Live Events Production Team, to assist in the delivery of live events and technical support for both academic and professional programme.
The team is responsible for managing the delivery of productions in the School of Drama, supporting academic programs such as Actor/Actor Musician and Musical Theatre, and organising events across the conservatoire. This includes overseeing set construction, lighting, sound, and costume elements, ensuring compliance with legislation, and coordinating with freelance production staff to ensure efficient and high-quality performances.
What You Will Do
Work closely with the Technical and Production Managers to ensure all performances, rehearsals, and workshops both on-site and at external venues are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Maintain performance equipment and stock across all technical areas, contributing to the development and improvement of lighting, sound, and staging systems in line with current legislation and industry best practices.
Oversee the day-to-day technical operations within Leeds Conservatoire’s performance facilities, ensuring safe, secure, and smooth delivery of all technical services.
Implement and manage regular maintenance and testing regimes across performance and production spaces to uphold consistent operational quality and safety.
Provide hands-on support during production weeks, assisting with the setup and technical execution of shows, both within the conservatoire and at external venues across Leeds, ensuring all production notes are accurately followed.
About You
Have hands-on experience with lighting and sound systems, including their rigging, operation, and troubleshooting.
Possess practical knowledge of stage technologies within a theatrical setting, particularly in support of live performance.
Be confident in live sound mixing and audio recording for theatrical productions.
Provide technical support for the delivery of Leeds Conservatoire’s Actor/Actor Musician and Musical Theatre degree productions.
Bring a proactive and collaborative approach to supporting performance-based projects in both internal and external venues.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a professional, approachable, and discreet manner when engaging with colleagues, students, and members of the publicThis role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will be undertaken by Leeds Conservatoire for the successful candidate.
