We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and dedicated practitioner to join our team to play a key role in supporting the development of inclusive practices, improving student behaviour and safeguarding students across the school. This is a varied and challenging role that requires strong communication, resilience and problem-solving skills.Some young people can behave in a way that is challenging to others and part of our role is to teach them safer and more effective ways of communicating their needs. However, a level of challenge still exists. For this reason, the role requires someone who is physically fit.Reporting to the Head of Education, you will be responsible for the oversight of pupil behaviour across the school, as well as working closely to monitor and respond to safeguarding issues.You will support our growing staff team to develop the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to challenging behaviours safely and effectively and play a key role in developing individual interventions/ plans for students to enable them to succeed.This is an exciting time to join us as Our Place continues to grow and develop under new leadership. With currently 32 students on roll between the ages of 8 and 18 and future growth planned, we offer a tailored curriculum built around individual needs, ensuring each student meets their aims and aspirations whilst feeling safe and valued within the school community.
We are looking for a candidate who: Has worked within in an educational setting, preferably within SEND or SEMH provisions. Has strong experience in managing behaviour and developing interventions for students with SEND and SEMH needs.Has a proven track record in safeguarding, ideally as a Designated Safeguarding Lead or deputy DSL, with a thorough understanding of safeguarding protocols and procedures.Builds strong, positive relationships with the child, staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.Actively contributes to the wider life of the school and supports a positive, inclusive school culture.Is resilient, flexible and a strong team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude and sense of fun.
