Are you passionate about supporting young people in their educational journey? Hays Education Liverpool is working in partnership with a variety of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across the Wirral. We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants for full-time roles, with both temporary and permanent positions available.

Your Role as a Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
  • Assisting with group activities and classroom learning
  • Supporting students in core subjects such as English and Maths
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote engagement
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to enhance student outcomes


What We're Looking For

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including those with experience in education, youth work, or coaching. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role (e.g. sports coach, youth mentor)
  • Confidence in supporting students academically and emotionally
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Behaviour management skills and a passion for helping young people thrive
