Hays Education Liverpool is working in partnership with a variety of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across the Wirral. We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants for full-time roles, with both temporary and permanent positions available.
Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
- Assisting with group activities and classroom learning
- Supporting students in core subjects such as English and Maths
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote engagement
- Collaborating with teachers and staff to enhance student outcomes
What We're Looking For
We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including those with experience in education, youth work, or coaching. Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role (e.g. sports coach, youth mentor)
- Confidence in supporting students academically and emotionally
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Behaviour management skills and a passion for helping young people thrive
