Seasonal Park Keeper

Location: Folkestone

Contract: Seasonal (April - October) | Full-time & Part-time Available

⏰ Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (07:30 - 20:30 with breaks)

Salary: £13.14

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Seasonal Park Keeper within the Local Authority. This role involves ensuring the daily maintenance and upkeep of Folkestone's parks and open spaces, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the public.

The ideal candidate will have a full driving licence and some experience in grounds maintenance tasks such as hedge trimming, mowing, and litter picking. You must be reliable, flexible, a standard DBS check will be carried out. Previous employment references will be obtained.

Full availability during the busy season (April to September) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Drive company vehicles as required.

️ Engage with the public in a professional and calm manner.

Litter picking, waste management, and safe disposal.

Maintain public toilets in the Coastal Park and East Cliff.

Garden maintenance - weeding, pruning, hedge cutting, strimming, and planting.

Sand area upkeep - raking, filling holes, and clearing paths with a blower.

Assist in the setup and take-down of special events.

Help maintain the park's infrastructure, such as playgrounds, benches, and pathways.

⚠️ Monitor the park for safety issues and report concerns.

What We're Looking For:

Full, clean driving licence (essential).

‍♂️ A calm and mature approach to handling difficult situations.

A valid standard DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply.

⏳ Reliability and ability to work independently for extended periods.

Knowledge of gardening/landscaping is desirable.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.

Excellent communication skills and team spirit.

Physical fitness to carry out manual tasks.
