Role - Activity Co-Ordinator (Older People Residential) Location - GCHSCP, Meadowburn Care Home, Glasgow, G53 5AQ Contract Status - Permanent Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place! Meadowburn Care Home is a provider of health and social care services in Glasgow. They offer a range of services including residential care, and specialised support for individuals with complex needs. These services are provided to elderly individuals, including those living with physical and cognitive impairment. Meadowburn Care Home plays a significant role in the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership by collaborating with other health and social care providers to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for the community. This partnership aims to improve health outcomes, enhance the quality of care, and support individuals in living independently and with dignity. An Activity Co-ordinator at Meadowburn Care Home plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents. Below are the key responsibilities and aspects of their role: Planning and Organizing Activities: They design and implement a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of the residents. This can include arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise classes, games, and social events. Promoting Social Interaction: By facilitating group activities and events, they help residents build relationships and stay socially engaged, which is crucial for mental and emotional well-being. Working with local community resource’s such as schools and clubs etc. Individualized Support: They provide one-on-one support for residents who may need personalized activities due to mobility issues, cognitive impairments, or personal preferences. Encouraging Participation: They motivate and encourage residents to take part in activities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be involved and enjoy themselves. Collaborating with Care Staff: They work closely with other care staff to ensure that activities are safe and suitable for all residents, taking into account any medical or physical limitations. Monitoring and Evaluating: They assess the effectiveness of activities and gather feedback from residents to continuously improve the activity program. Documentation and Reporting: They keep records of activities and resident participation, which helps in planning future activities and reporting to management. Overall, the Activity Co-ordinator plays a crucial role in creating a vibrant and engaging environment at Meadowburn Care Home, contributing significantly to the residents' overall well-being and quality of life.

Requirements

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership. These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
