Job OverviewMitie are seeking an experienced electrical supervisor or an experienced tradesperson wanting to progress into first line management.
Successful candidate must be capable of leading a Hard Facilities Management team delivering pre planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, scheduling works, assisting the team as required. Communicating with other members of the Mitie team, client and contractors.
Main Duties
Working closely within the Mechanical & Electrical team, sub-contractors and project managers, Authorising Engineers and Appointed persons.
Problem solving, delivering work, due to our location material parts may not be readily available, therefore urgent jobs must be investigated and solutions expedited.
Support the Mechanical & Electrical Facilities Management Operations manager in his duties such as PPM, electrical inspections, Helpdesk repairs and support to specialist inspections and audits. Provide cover during periods of absence.
Implement the company HSE policy and procedures ensuring compliance with JSP 375 and associated rules and regulations.
Participate in the on-call roster programme as point of contact for emergency calls if required. Be prepared to be trained up as an Authorised Person (Electrical).
Identifying solutions and minor design of works including ordering of construction materials through the sites procurement systems for non-stocked materials.
The role also requires you to undertake secondary duties such as supporting the ship to shore pipe line maintenance, mentoring of tradesmen and supporting maintenance works.
Have or willing to train to achieve Compex 1-4, Appointed Person LV
What we are looking for
-Completed Craft Apprenticeship or recognised equivalent in Electrical Engineering
-Hold a C&G Qualifications in Electrical Installation current 18th Edition, inspection, testing, design and verification.
-City & Guilds/HNC/HND or Level 3 NVQ.
-NEBOSH General Certificate or SMSTS.
-Hold or training for MoD Authorised Person Certificates in Electrical Systems desirable but not
Essential
-Experience in low Voltage Systems - Ring & Radial, UPS, Generators and Standby Systems, Hazardous Area Systems & Equipment, Fixed Wiring Installations & Building Services.
-Knowledge of Fire Alarm and UPS systems desirable.
-Full driving license.
-Will have extensive and demonstrable supervision experience within field
-Working to budgets and programmes.

-Excellent management skills including decision making, handling conflict and providing direction and vision.
-Good time management and organisation skills able to work to deadlines.
-Ability to prioritise, coordinate and delegate tasks.
-Team development and motivation skills empowering others.
