Summary
Role - Electrical Supervisor (Day Shift)
Project Type - New build energy project
Location - Cheshire
Start Date - ASAP
Duration - 6 Months (possible extension)
Rates - £425 - £450 per day outside IR35
Hours: 07.00 to 17.00. Monday to Friday. Must be flexible to work weekends when required.
Key skills and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams to design electrical systems tailored to project requirements, including power distribution, lighting, communication, and controls.
- Demonstrable industrial E&IC knowledge, preferably in power generation.
- Able to work with others on site on a day to day basis if and when required.
- Sound Knowledge of Work at Height and Temporary Works.
- Able to plan and coordinate access arrangements for subcontractors.
- Able to proactively identify potential blocking points for activities.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical systems to facilitate clear communication and accurate execution.
- Prioritise safety by adhering to electrical codes, national grid requirements, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring personnel well-being and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into project design seamlessly.
- Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable practices into electrical system design, minimising environmental impact.
- Maintain accurate electrical system activity records for the night shifts, generated technical reports, and documented changes for transparency.
- Provide technical expertise during construction meetings and discussions, addressing electrical related queries and making informed recommendations.
- Ability to adjust and thrive in the dynamic environment of a construction site.
- Strong critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues related to electrical systems during construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, I2C or a related field; Master's degree is advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical system design, installation, and operation, preferably within the construction industry or similar field. Ideally working on large - scale electrical installations on big infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software, CAD tools, and simulation applications relevant to electrical system design.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards applicable to construction sites.
