30 hours per week
Term Time
Temporary - 1 year
To commence September 2025
The Governors of Brynmenyn Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and conscientious learning support officer to work in a highly motivated, friendly teaching team.
The successful candidate will provide essential support to pupils and be able to demonstrate this across the primary phase. They should also:
- Be able to work in close partnership with teaching and other support staff.
- Have a good knowledge of primary practice in order to contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
- Have a good understanding of additional learning needs and promote inclusion.
- Have experience in delivering intervention work for pupils.
- Be highly motivated and able to work on their own initiative.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Work alongside staff to champion an area of the curriculum.
- Be dedicated to their own professional development and school improvement.
- Be able to make a positive contribution to the wider life of school.
- Be prepared to undertake 30 minutes lunch duty per day.
You will be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have good experience of working with children in a school environment.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
