Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Construction Manager at Sellafield, Seascale and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.

Role Purpose:

  • The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of on-site construction activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of the project in line with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • They lead the site team, oversee subcontractors, and act as the key interface between construction, engineering, and project leadership

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the site construction team, including supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure clear communication of project goals, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain site construction plans and look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate construction sequencing in line with engineering, procurement, and
    commissioning.
  • Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the site.
  • Ensure site activities are conducted in compliance with legislation, permits, and
    company policies.
  • Track construction progress and performance against the schedule.
  • Proactively manage delays, risks, and changes, and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Ensure construction work is delivered to specification and quality standards.
  • Support inspections, audits, and resolution of non-conformances.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors and labour teams.
  • Liaise with project management, engineering, commissioning, and client teams.
  • Attend and lead daily coordination meetings and progress reviews.
  • Ensure adequate resourcing and adherence to scope and schedule.
  • Maintain site records, daily logs, and reports on progress, safety, and productivity.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly project reporting cycles.

Who we're looking for

  • Formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in Engineering/Construction/ HNC/HND or experience equivalent
  • Extensive experience managing complex construction activities on large
    engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, construction sequencing, and safety
    standards.
