We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Applications Project Engineer
Location: North Manchester
Company: Established Engineering & Manufacturing Firm
Are you an experienced Manufacturing Applications Project Engineer who enjoys the challenge of short lead times and varying product schedules?
Do you have the ambition to progress within a business and really be an integral part of its long-term future success and direction?
Are you ready to lead a brand-new function and help a business perform more effectively and efficiently?
We are looking for a skilled Manufacturing Applications Project Engineer to join our client's team. This is a brand-new role within the business, which makes it a great opportunity to make the role your own.
The thing to bear in mind with any new role is that there is likely to be limited support with any job-specific skills gaps so you will need to be quietly confident in your own capabilities as a capable and forward-thinking project engineer.
The role involves supporting the Plant Manager in implementing and optimising new technologies, equipment, and software.
Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Support: Provide engineering and application support during manufacturing
• New Product Introduction: Assist in launching new products
• Project Leadership: Lead improvements in manufacturing projects, including software systems, CAD/CAM, and quality programming
• Inspection Management: Maintain inspection equipment and ensure daily production inspection requirements are met
• Documentation: Apply new technologies to quality control documentation, including inspection reports and certificates of conformity, ISIR’s, PPAP reporting etc.
• Decision Making: Make decisions regarding re-work and scrap in collaboration with senior managers.
• Customer Complaints: Address non-conformance reports related to customer complaints and quality control issues
• Quality equipment programming to maximise coverage and usage of inspection equipment
What We’re Looking For:
• Well-versed in modern engineering, manufacturing principles and digital technologies
• Proficiency in CMM/Quality Equipment Programming (Keyence, Mitutoyo MCOSMOS, Faro preferred) and CAD skills (AutoDesk, Fusion preferred)
• Knowledge of HighQA Quality software is an advantage, although not essential
• Experience with 4 and 5 axis CNC machines is essential
• Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role, project delivery, and quality management
• Engineering qualification or relevant engineering/manufacturing experience
• Ability to successfully deliver change by leadership, best practice and leading by example
• Responsible, organised, and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine desire to keep learning and getting ahead of the curve
What you get in return:
• Circa £50k dependant on experience
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
• Days, Monday to Friday
• Pension
• Training
• DIS Scheme
• Career development
Immediate start available, although we will wait for the right person too.
If you are passionate about modern engineering and want to be able to make a role your own and are ready to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you.
If this sounds like you, call me, Sharon Seville on 0161 359 3111 or send your CV using the link.
