Summary

Job Summary

To clean and maintain high standards in guest bedrooms on a day-to-day basis.

Candidate Profile

Experience:

Previous experience of working within in a similar operation preferred but not essential.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
  • Innovative
  • Pro-active and reliable.
  • Able to work alone and within a team.

Specific Duties

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions, critical to the successful performance of the position:

  1. To be aware of the hotel’s layout and facilities.
  2. Ensure all rooms correspond with lists given, reporting any discrepancies immediately to housekeeper.
  3. Collect any laundry and deliver to linen room.
  4. Remove all trays out of rooms.
  5. Open all windows in all rooms.
  6. Place all dirty linen; skips provided.
  7. Collect clean linen as and when required.
  8. Identify reject linen and store this separately, to return to the linen room.
  9. Completes one room at a time to the highest standard and in accordance with the room specification.
  10. Empty all rubbish into black bags and remove them to service rooms.
  11. Understand the cleaning schedule and to ensure the correct solvents/cleaning products are used at all times.
  12. Clean bathrooms to include basins, baths, toilets, mirrors, tiles, and floors, etc.
  13. Put clean towels in bathroom, folded correctly.
  14. Replenish all toiletries, as room specification.
  15. Dust all furniture etc in bedrooms.
  16. Vacuum all bedrooms.
  17. Vacuum and dust corridors, clean fire doors, brasses, daily
  18. Clean service room, daily
  19. Carry out the ‘Job of the Day’ to the highest standard.
  20. Hand immediately any lost property to the Head Housekeeper, noting time, place, and date.
  21. Report all maintenance faults to Head or Deputy Housekeeper
  22. Ensure all rooms are supplied with adequate stationery and hotel information as room specification.
  23. Completes any mistakes given by the Housekeeper, handing back at the end of the shift.
  24. Fully understand all fire and emergency evacuation procedures. Observes Company and Statutory Health and Safety Regulations.
  25. Keeps uniform smart and clean at all times.
  26. Attend Departmental meetings, participating when appropriate.
  27. Attend any training sessions as identified or requested by Head of Department. To be fully trained and to understand COSHH/health and Safety.
  28. All hotel Policies on Cash, Key and all Controls are adhered to and followed consistently.

Other

  • Performs other related task as assigned by Management.
  • Complies with The Forest of Arden Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than your contracted hours.
