Summary
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has a clear mission - to grow the economy. Our role is to help businesses invest, grow and export to create jobs and opportunities right across the country. We do this in three ways.
Firstly, we help to build a strong, competitive business environment, where consumers are protected and companies rewarded for treating their employees properly.
Secondly, we open international markets and ensure resilient supply chains. This can be through Free Trade Agreements, trade facilitation and multilateral agreements.
Finally, we work in partnership with businesses every day, providing advance, finance and deal-making support to those looking to start up, invest, export and grow.
The Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) directorate develops and operates tools and services to support us in this mission. The team have been nominated three times in a row for ‘Best Public Sector Employer’ at the Women in Tech awards!
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to join our Microsoft team. Our focus is on leveraging Microsoft Office products, particularly the Microsoft Power Platform, to rapidly deliver agile solutions that reduce staff workload, optimise data use, and support informed decision-making.

You will play a key role in both developing innovative solutions and supporting your colleagues in their own development efforts. While creativity and innovation are encouraged, all work must adhere to data protection and information security standards.
You will collaborate closely with the M365 Applications Engineering team to implement system changes and provide departmental support. A vital aspect of the role will be championing the use of Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring teams across the department take full advantage of available tools and capabilities.
As a Power Platform and Co-pilot Developer, you’ll also work alongside the IT Strategy and Architecture team to design, maintain, and enhance business-critical applications. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team dedicated to improving and automating business processes through the Power Platform and emerging AI capabilities.
