What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governors are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspiring professional to lead and develop our Economics department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher to take on a leadership role within a thriving and high-achieving school.
As Subject Leader for Economics, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the subject. You will oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of Economics at Key Stage 5 and support colleagues in delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The department is well resourced, and you will have access to excellent CPD opportunities and the full support of the Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the delivery of KS5 Level 3 Economics
Designing schemes of work, resources, and engaging learning activities
Overseeing assessment and tracking student progress
Preparing students for A-Level examinations and supporting high achievement
We are looking for a committed and innovative teacher with high expectations and the ability to inspire, challenge, and support both students and colleagues. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Economics are essential.
New to teaching or not ready for a leadership role?
If you are newly qualified or early in your career and interested in teaching Economics without the leadership responsibilities, we still encourage you to apply. Please make this clear in your application – we are open to flexible arrangements and welcome the opportunity to consider a job share.
