An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an experienced and versatile team, delivering top-notch services at MoD Abbey Wood. Previous security clearance is encouraged but not essential for applicants. We are seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, and adaptable Receptionist, responsible for Access Control. The successful candidate will have the professional capability to multitask and carry out a variety of tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day Reception Services, including assisting with access control at the visitor car park when needed. Training will be provided where necessary.
Main DutiesThe main duties of the role include providing reception services as the first point of contact for general inquiries and all persons wishing to enter the facility. The role will also involve assisting with the controlled access of entitled personnel onto the site, as well as helping at the visitor car park when required. Other reasonable tasks may be assigned, such as covering for other team members and performing building management and access control duties. The successful candidate will be expected to actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to health and safety procedures, processes, and laws.
We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, competent, and physically fit individual who can work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be confident, self-motivated, and able to use their initiative while being highly responsive to company and customer needs. A proactive, consistent approach is key, with the ability to quickly adapt to the changing needs of the business. Additional qualities include the capability to multitask, a working knowledge of health and safety requirements, effective interpersonal communication skills, a flexible approach to shifting priorities, good customer-facing abilities, and basic IT literacy in Microsoft applications.

MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
