Summary
Our creative company specialises in creative after school clubs for primary schools in London, including photography and animation. Our team is passionate about educating and inspiring children, through art and play, to become confident and responsible citizens.
We are looking for tutors to deliver these fun and engaging lessons across London, teaching students in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11).
The rate of pay is £60 per workshop to be invoiced. The clubs run for 10 to 14 weeks, with the possibility of further work.
During the contract period, you'll be available for 3-5 fixed days per week (Monday to Friday) to deliver the clubs. Your responsibilities as Lead Tutor include:
- Preparing for lessons
- Delivering lessons in school (and safeguarding children in that environment)
- Attending a short, online weekly meeting
- Uploading students' work
You will be paid £60 per lesson.
The contract period is for the Autumn Term (September to December 2024). During this period, you will be available 3-5 days a week, Monday to Friday, for 60-90 minutes (between 2:30 and 5:30pm).
All equipment and lesson plans are supplied by us.
There is a possibility of other creative work for the right candidate.
You will:
- Have experience in photography, animation or videography
- Feel confident working with young people, and ideally have experience teaching children aged 7-11 (Key Stage 2)
- Be committed to safeguarding children in a school environment
- Have great communication skills
- Be reliable
- Have a fun, inspiring and engaging attitude towards working with young people and the arts.
This role requires safeguarding responsibilities. You must have or be willing to obtain the following:
- Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check
- Prohibition from Teaching check
- Safeguarding Children certificate
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Right to Work in the UK
Please note, it is an offence to apply for this contract if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
As a freelancer, you will also be responsible for registering with HMRC, in order to process your own tax and national insurance in accordance with the law.
