Hours
12¼ hours a week, worked over 7 days, two calls a day, as follows;
1 hour call at tea-time to be set between 3pm and 5pm (exact time to be agreed at interview)
45 minute call at bed-time at 8.30pm.
Additional cover hours may be available when the Employer’s other Personal Assistant is on annual leave and/or sick leave.

About the employer
The employer is a Gentleman in his eighties, living in his own home in Kettering. He
has mild dementia, diabetes and various other health issues.
Main Duties
• Tea-time Call; to prepare a sandwich or light meal and refreshments to the Employer. The Employer is able to eat independently but may need prompting to do so. Supervision whilst he eats is necessary. Cleaning and tidying the kitchen afterwards, as required.
• Bed-time Call; to support the Employer to get ready for bed, ensuring he has his night clothes on, that he has cleaned his teeth, personal care as required and that he has his sleep mask and he is comfortable and settled.
• Any other task which the Employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.
Additional employment information
Experience in dementia care would be desirable.
The Employer is charming in nature and does not present any challenging behaviours. However, he can occasionally be very blunt in his language. The ability to be firm whilst calm and friendly is essential.
Must be flexible, trustworthy and with a good sense of humour.
Please note you will be directly employed by the person (or their representative) that you will be assisting. The Council is not the employer.
Sponsorship cannot be provided by individual employers. Your right to work in the UK must be confirmed already.
