Start Date 1st September 2025

Hours per Week - 30 hours to be worked across 4 or 5 days within school term time only (some flexibility can be negotiated) Early and Late Shift Patterns. Additional pay for on call duties.

Overview of the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Operative to join Edsential Community Interest Company. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the upkeep of our educational resources and facilities. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe, well-maintained environment for our users, whilst also providing essential support across various sites within our portfolio.

What We’re Looking For:
- A team player with a strong work ethic who enjoys contributing to a collective goal.
- A minimum of GCSE/Btec standard or NVQ 3 qualification.
- Proven facilities/maintenance experience, particularly with hand and power tools.
- Strong communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Problem-solving abilities and the initiative to tackle tasks independently.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor, adaptable to changing situations.
- Must hold a valid driving licence and be comfortable working at height.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring functionality of safety systems like fire alarms.
- Carry out grounds upkeep, including mowing, litter collection, weeding, and planting.
- Maintain, service, clean, and properly store various equipment.
- Participate in projects and report any issues to the facilities or maintenance manager.
- Monitor health and safety compliance, including Legionella testing and reporting

On Call duties responding to call outs from the centres during late shifts.

Contribute to maintaining health and safety compliance through monitoring, recording, and reporting and testing, e.g., Legionella.
