Crynodeb
To manage a caseload of patients using specialist evidence-based and/or patient centred principles with a variety range of medical and surgical conditions. To provide specialist dietetic expertise for inpatients who require parenteral nutrition (PN). Providing advice on appropriate indication and safe initiation, access route and a patient centred plan to best meet patients macro and micronutrient requirements, working alongside the MDT. Monitoring protocol, efficacy and complications. To act as a specialist dietitian for patients on ICU/ critical care, working in-line with national guidelines to provide an evidence based service at the Alexandra Hospital alongside the critical care lead dietitian. Working in conjunction with the doctors and health care professionals to support service development. To provide specialist dietetic expertise to staff and nutritional advice to a range of patients on acute inpatient wards. To provide day to day support and supervision to Band 5 colleagues at the Alexandra Hospital working in conjunction with the team lead Dietitian. To provide support and supervision to students on practice placements. To maintain the service and prioritise the clinical caseload at the Alexandra hospital when the team lead is off site. To work across site at Worcestershire Royal Hospital when demand requires.
