We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family and Friends Assessment Social Worker to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical assessments and support for families and friends who are involved in the care and protection of children and vulnerable individuals. Your primary focus will be on evaluating family circumstances to enable safe and informed decision-making regarding child welfare and placement options. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments that highlight strengths, areas for improvement, and potential risks to ensure that the best interests of the children are prioritized. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with families, caregivers, and other professionals to develop practical plans that foster well-being and promote positive outcomes. Additionally, you will advocate for the needs of children and their families, ensuring they have access to the resources necessary for support. Your expertise will play a key role in identifying potential placements and supporting families through challenging times. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving change by promoting family-centered practices and delivering high-quality assessments that impact the lives of those we serve.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive family assessments to determine suitability for kinship care.
Evaluate the needs and strengths of children and families involved in child welfare cases.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective service plans.
Facilitate family meetings to discuss assessments, resources, and future steps.
Provide guidance and support to families during the assessment process.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments and reports in compliance with regulations.
Advocate for children and families, ensuring access to necessary resources and services.
Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
Active social work license relevant to the state of employment.
Proven experience in child welfare, family support, or related areas of social work.
Strong assessment and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in child welfare.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £31.98
