Are you seeking the opportunity to achieve a Level 3 Business Administration qualification? As well as gaining personal growth and development opportunities? This unique role offers the chance to work across two organisations at the forefront of cultural and creative partnership working in Blackpool.

If you have a curiosity for the theatre and arts, and have the potential to fulfil a critical back-office support role - helping to enhance creative and art-related projects for the communities of Blackpool - then this may be the job for you.

Funded by Arts Council England, LeftCoast delivers Blackpool’s Creative People and Places programme, empowering more residents to discover, choose, and actively engage with the creativity and culture available in their local towns and neighbourhoods. LeftCoast supports everyone involved in its projects to foster a stronger sense of well-being and connection to their communities. By working closely with individuals, community groups, and organisations, LeftCoast aims to inspire positive change and enhance civic life across Blackpool’s neighbourhoods.

The Grand Theatre is Blackpool’s beautiful Grade II listed Victorian Theatre and since 2006 has also been known as the National Theatre of Variety. Aside from its impressive programme of headline shows, including West End and Broadway Musicals, quality dance and drama and A-list comedians, the Grand is an active charity with social, educational and artistic aims. It runs a full programme of workshops for children and young people, in and out of school, focussed on improving literacy, numeracy, social skills and confidence.
For this Apprenticeship opportunity, we are looking for an organised and friendly Administrator to help keep both LeftCoast’s and The Grand Theatre’s creative programmes running smoothly. You will handle everyday administrative and financial tasks for both companies, such as logging invoices, processing supplier paperwork, recording transactions, and arranging payments. Additionally, you will also keep both physical and digital filing systems well organised.
The role has responsibility for managing contact databases, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and keeping cultural partners, volunteers, and local residents informed about upcoming events and opportunities. On a day to day basis, you will organise meetings, arrange travel and accommodation, answer enquiries, and generally help the team keep projects on track.
The administration undertaken for this unique role is varied. You will also have the opportunity to support with projects and events on behalf of both LeftCoast and The Grand Theatre. This will be though collecting, inputting and monitoring evaluation data, working alongside partners and evaluators to help demonstrate the impact of the work, promote events through platforms like Eventbrite, and monitor bookings. Keeping databases up to date will help the team communicate effectively, tracking activities and funding.
Ideal candidates will have a flair for organising files, records, equipment and people, with a keen attention to detail and enjoyment of a very varied workload. They should be an able communicator and an energetic and motivated organiser. They should be able to work to deadlines and be a confident first point of contact for the organisation. A flexible approach to work is also necessary with the split of working across two locations. Strong IT skills are required and possessing English and Maths GCSE at grade 4/C or above is essential.

As part of the Apprenticeship, you will be given time each week to dedicate to the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship with Blackpool and the Fylde College.

Any offer of appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB check). A basic DBS will be required for those aged under 18, and an enhanced check will be required for those aged 18+ due to LeftCoast being based in the Blackpool and Fylde College, Park Road Campus.

For further information about this position, please contact the LeftCoast Office on 01253 532989 and leave a message.
