About Us
Tête-à-Tête is a speciality restaurant, tea room, and cocktail bar located in a charming 16th-century building. We offer a unique blend of traditional English afternoon tea, handcrafted cocktails, and homemade meals prepared by a talented kitchen team. We also host weddings, birthdays, and private events, creating bespoke experiences for our guests.

The Role
We are looking for a motivated individual to train with our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in baking, patisserie, and high-quality homemade food.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing dishes from the menu

Support with stock rotation and kitchen organisation

Help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment

Contribute ideas for new cakes and patisserie items

Training
You’ll work at Tête-à-Tête four days a week and attend college in Bridlington one day per week.

The apprenticeship includes training in:

Craft preparation and basic cooking skills

Accurate measuring and portion control

Knife skills and equipment handling

Food safety and hygiene practices

Stock control and waste reduction

Food presentation and recipe accuracy

Communication and team collaboration

Managing time, resources, and tasks effectively

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
A good level of Maths and English is required and will be assessed at application.

Skills & Qualities:

Interest in cooking and presentation

Good customer service skills (you may greet or serve customers)

A reliable, positive team player

Willingness to learn and take initiative

Other Requirements:
You must be able to travel reliably to both the workplace in Beverley and the college in Bridlington.
