Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Parent Support Advisor (PO1) to join our team in providing exceptional support to parents and families. In this role, you will play a critical part in enhancing the experiences of parents within our community, ensuring they have the resources and guidance they need to support their children's development and education. As a Senior Advisor, you will leverage your expertise to lead initiatives that empower parents, foster strong relationships, and facilitate effective communication between families and educational institutions. Your role will involve the coordination of programs designed to address the specific needs of parents while promoting engagement and inclusivity. You will serve as a mediator and advocate for parents, guiding them through challenges they may face regarding their child's educational journey. With a focus on collaborative practices, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a supportive framework that nurtures family involvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the educational landscape, and a commitment to driving positive change in the lives of families. Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and support to parents on educational and developmental issues.
Develop and implement parent support programs and workshops that address common concerns and challenges.
Act as a liaison between parents and schools to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
Conduct assessments to identify the unique needs of families and tailor support strategies accordingly.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, best practices, and resources available for parents.
Serve as a mentor to junior staff, offering guidance and training on effective support techniques.
Collect and analyze feedback from parents to improve services and address emerging needs.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in a parent support or advisory role, ideally in an educational setting.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to connect with diverse groups of parents.
Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in program development and implementation.
Knowledge of child development principles and educational best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
