A Vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
CCGS is hosted within the Division of Specialist Care at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Chelsea Centre for Gender Surgery offers masculinising lower surgery, feminising lower surgery, and masculinising chest surgery.
As part of the masculinising lower surgery (metoidioplasty or phalloplasty), patients are offered minimally-invasive gynaecological surgery, which includes hysterectomy, adnexectomy and vaginectomy. Procedures offered for lower feminising surgery include vaginoplasty and vulvoplasty.
The team at CCGS comprises of consultant urological, plastic and gynaecological surgeons leading a multidisciplinary team of Nurse Specialists, Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Psychologists, Anaesthetists and Endocrinologists. The service is supported by a Deputy General Manager covering Gender Health and patient pathway coordinators, who will be the first point of contact for service users and will provide administrative support to the clinical team.
The successful candidate will join this national service to help deliver world class surgical care to patients having gender affirming surgery. Candidates must be committed to the delivery of trans-inclusive care and be sensitive to the unique needs of this patient group. The successful candidate will be involved in the preoperative and postoperative care of this patient group, as well as the surgery itself. They will be expected to substantially contribute to the development of the service, and audit/research within the programme.

We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.
We are committed to equal opportunities and believe that diversity drives innovation and excellence. As part of our dedication to equity, we actively welcome applications from individuals from the global majority, veterans and underrepresented communities. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that diverse teams bring and are committed to creating an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered to succeed."
