We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer for our client in the Stoke on Trent area.


Role overview

You will be part of a busy team of multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers who are providing a quality service to the manufacturing team. You will demonstrate safe working practices dynamically assessing tasks to ensure your safety and that of your colleagues. Working alongside external sub-contractors to maintain plant reliability whilst considering the environment by eliminating waste and wasteful processes.

Your Key Responsibilities to help achieve vision:

Responsible for all engineering repairs, preventative maintenance and project work undertaken to a high standard within the company.
Contributing to the database of planned preventive maintenance system, a stock control system for the engineering stores and maintaining such records.
To ensure the efficient and safe running of all plant machinery adhering to all Health & Safety regulations at all times, including the referencing and reviewing of risk assessments.
To provide appropriate quality service to enable manufacturing to achieve budgeted targets and improve operational efficiencies and capabilities.
Recommend and implement improvements to optimise energy efficiency including the sourcing and development of new plant equipment.
Maintaining factory services including: gas, electricity, water, compressed air, effluent, heating & ventilation. As well as compliance work for: gas safety checks, PAT testing, insurance work, lifts & lifting tackle, EICR checks, fork lift trucks, LEV, pressure vessels & compressors.
To satisfy the skills matrix to be deemed competent and where necessary identify any training requirements needed to enhance your skills further in the department.

Hours of work: 6 week rota of days/noons with 1 week in 6 being a Sunday – Thursday shift and one weekend on-call in 6.
