Job description
Although this job description is correct at present, it may change from time to time after negotiation with the post holder.
Must have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role, sponsorship not available.
Job purpose
To support a disabled single mother with everyday household tasks (including cleaning duties) and occasionally accompanying her to appointments.
About me
I am a single mother living in Stanton with my 13-year-old son and my 3 cats. I am mentally and physically disabled and am unable to perform the tasks that need to be done around the house. I also have anxiety so I would like someone to accompany me to appointments.
I am a chatty person as I don’t have any adults at home to talk to, so once I get to know you it would be nice to chat. I don’t really like leaving the house, I keep myself to myself, so I put a lot of trust in an employee to come into my home and it takes a lot for me to build a relationship with them.
I also use crutches and I do not smoke.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Support with everyday household tasks:
Washing up
Laundry
Hoovering
Cleaning around the house
Cleaning bathroom
Changing bed sheets/covers
Emptying cat litter tray
Various other jobs around the house
Helping with medication dossette box
Cutting the grass of my small garden in spring/summer
Going to the local shop or post office for me
Supporting me to go to appointments at N&N hospital or others
Personal Specification
(refer to these when submitting your application)
Essential Criteria
Experience working with people with mental health problems
Driving licence and access to your own vehicle (for appointments)
Experience working with people with depression and anxiety
Experience working with people with disabilities
Good communication skills
Able to work on own initiative
Will turn their hand to whatever needs doing on the day
