We are looking to recruit a second female Support Worker to work alongside the existing Support Worker, to cover a period of Maternity Leave. The support is required for a 12-year-old girl who has a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD
Main Duties The support will be delivered both at home and in the community accessing age-appropriate activities including going to the beach, where she loves to build sandcastles, and visiting the woods. The child has no danger awareness so very close supervision and support will be required to ensure her safety, especially when near water.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed support worker and somebody who enjoys being outdoors but is equally happy to engage in indoor activities including baking and art on poor weather days. You will be required to administer medication for which training will be provided and also support with personal care needs.
The child can sometimes present with some unpredictable behaviours and has some complex sensory issues, and we require Support Workers who can support her in managing this whilst continuing to access appropriate activities. She is non-verbal and has limited methods of communication, so experience in working with children presenting with similar needs would be an advantage.
Hours 5 hours per week during term time weeks which are usually required on Saturday’s. 15 hours per week during all school holiday weeks and these hours are required in the mornings.
