An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our Construction, Professional and Service Industries team reporting to our Curriculum Manager.

As a Lecturer in Hairdressing with Stockton Riverside College you will be responsible for Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in hairdressing, aligned with awarding body requirements and college standards. Provide academic and pastoral support to learners, monitoring progress and guiding them towards success. Prepare learners for end-point assessments, competitions, and work placements. Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning resources to meet diverse learner needs.Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and external bodies to enhance the learner experience and support employability outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and experienced Hairdressing Lecturer to join our vibrant teaching team. You will deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive teaching to learners across a range of hairdressing qualifications — from Level 1 through to Level 3, including adult learning programmes.
You will play a key role in developing learners’ practical and theoretical knowledge, supporting them to achieve their qualifications and progress into the industry or further study. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of hair professionals in a supportive and extremely well-resourced learning environment.
We are looking for:
• Recognised Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Hairdressing.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one within an agreed timeframe).
• Industry experience in hairdressing with up-to-date knowledge of current practices and trends.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, learner-focused teaching and continuous professional development.
