Crynodeb
This is a Specialist Trainee post in General Adult Psychiatry (ST4-6) based at:
• South Camden Core Team
• Kentish Town Core Team
• North Camden Rehabilitation and Recovery Team
The Kentish Town and South Camden Core Teams run as multidisciplinary teams which provide assessment and treatment to service users with a range of mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorder and psychotic illnesses. The team works closely with local GP practices. The post holder will divide their time between the two teams.
The North Camden Rehabilitation & Recovery Team runs as a multidisciplinary team which provides community psychiatric treatment to service users with a range of psychotic illnesses, mainly schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder. The focus is on helping patients in community setting
North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) was established on 1st November 2024 with the merger of Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust and Barnet, Enfield & Haringey NHS Trust. We are responsible for the provision of Mental Health Services within the London Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield & Haringey. We also provide NHS Talking Therapies service to Kingston.
NLFT has very strong academic links with the academic unit at UCL. There is a tradition of the Trust producing high quality research in the area of service delivery. The post-holder will be encouraged and supported to pursue any research interests, with the support of their academic colleagues in the UCL Department of Mental Health Sciences. Camden is a vibrant and busy Central London borough with a rich mix of cultures and ethnic groups and a diverse urban geography from Bloomsbury to Hampstead.
NLFT has worked closely with current service users and Trust staff to create a set of shared values that make sure people who use the Trust’s services get the best possible chance of a rapid recovery.
