Highly Specialist Physiotherapist- Cardiac Rehabilitation/Exercise physiologist

Band: 7 Full-Time

Are you an experienced physiotherapist with a passion forcardiac rehabilitation? We have an exciting opportunity for aHighly Specialist Physiotherapistto join our dynamic team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients recovering frommyocardial infarction (MI), revascularisation procedures (PCI/CABG), and heart failure in particular to develop the exercise component of the service.

This role may be ideal for someone looking for a secondment opportunity to gain experience in service development and cardiac rehabilitation.
About You

We are looking for a motivated physiotherapist with:
✔HCPC registrationand a degree inPhysiotherapy.
✔ Experience incardiac rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and patient assessment.
✔ Strong leadership skills with experience inservice development and staff supervision.
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to engage patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
✔ A passion for deliveringhigh-quality, evidence-basedrehabilitation care.

As a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist, you will:
✅ Lead theassessment, planning, and deliveryof safe and effective exercise programs in line withBACPR Standards and NICE guidelines.
✅ Support patients acrossonsite, community, online, and home-basedrehabilitation settings, promoting long-term recovery and preventing hospital readmissions.
✅ Providespecialist adviceto patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring a patient-centred approach.
✅ Take a leadership role inservice development, modernization, and expansion, contributing to strategic planning and policy implementation.
✅ Supervise and support thetraining, development, and recruitmentof staff within the service.
✅ Workindependently and collaborativelywithin a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the continuous improvement of cardiac rehabilitation services.

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system – consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS’s, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care. We are also a training unit for medical students from UCL and St George’s University Grenada, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
