Renfrewshire Councils, Building Services is looking to recruit Electrical Technicians. It is essential that you have a minimum of SVQ Level 3 of Electrician Apprenticeship, or equivalent and have achieved the 18th Edition of the IEE wiring regulations. It is also essential that you have ECS Health and Safety Assessment or approved equivalent and holds current editions of BS7671 and other technical reference documents relevant to the range and scale of the work undertaken as well as experience as an approved electrician.
You will have experience of working within a building operations / maintenance environment. You will be experienced inspecting and quality checking works and have experience of detailed report writing. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and work with a wide range of people. You will have effective communication and written skills and be able to communicate at all levels.
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, as part of a team and to work with a wide range of people. You will maintain management database of certificates and electrical equipment and hold a current valid driving licence.
You must be able to adjust to changes in work demand and be flexible in your approach to working which will include out of hours working and participation on the out of hours emergency stand-by service.
Knowledge of working within a public sector environment is desirable. The roles may be suitable for a flexible work pattern. You may also undertake associated works across in other trade skills by multi skilling.
