Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Parkfields, Wolverhampton WV4

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
Our client is a 12-year-old female living with parents in the Parkfields area of Wolverhampton who is looking to recruit 2 Personal Assistants to provide social support for 2 - 4 hours each per week during school holidays.

Our client requires 2:1 support while out in the community.

Main duties:
Social duties
 keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
 attend suitable activity centres.
 do hobbies such as walking, swimming, painting, reading, colouring, and jigsaws.

Personal care: Some support required with using the bathroom.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Type of person that you/they are looking for:
 Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality & diversity.

 Specific requirements: someone with previous care & support experience and that has worked with children with complex care needs.

 Other: due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Hours of work: 2 - 4 hours per week – during school holidays

Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 driving licence.
 car and appropriate insurance.
 previous experience of working with children with complex care needs.
 able to swim.
 Confidentiality.
 good at building relationships.

Preferred:
 computer literate.
 good communicator.
 a good listener.
 ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
