We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community wishing to join a workforce which embraces difference and welcomes everyone.
We are looking a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver exciting, innovative projects including flood risk management studies and schemes that reduce the risk of flooding to communities and enhance the environment.
This role sits in Projects & Programme Delivery (PPD) and is a senior position within our integrated project teams, taking responsibility for the delivery of projects as the Client project manager, or accountability as project executive. You will manage the project delivery process from initial strategic planning, through to feasibility, detailed design, into construction and handover. You will mentor and coach project team members, flexing your involvement to suit team strength.
You will build a great working environment with high performing teams including our suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists, and partners. Applying your strong commercial acumen in project, contract, and risk management, you will establish effective relationships, facilitating collaborative and efficient ways of working. You will make key project decisions informed by technical leads whilst following governance procedures, project assurance and legislation.
The ability to develop a resilient network of relationships with stakeholders such as statutory authorities, landowners, and local communities to negotiate agreements, consents, approvals and external funding is crucial.
The role will require regular travel to project sites and project team meetings in other Agency and Supply Partner offices.
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when the need to respond arises Having an incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and an active way to support communities and prevent harm to the environment. Further information on incident response can be found within your candidate pack.
