Crynodeb

Working with other Assistant Directors and the Quality and Safety team the post holder will lead the further development and implementation of clinical governance systems and support the quality and safety of medical services provided by PTHB. Key areas will be in supporting the National Quality and Safety Framework and Duties of Quality and Candour. The post holder will act as Deputy Responsible Officer to lead and support systems relating to revalidation, including annual professional appraisal for doctors. This role will encompass quality assurance arrangements for PTHB as a Designated Body; and in relation to the PTHB Medical Performers List. The post holder will be Deputy Chair of the PTHB Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Advisory Group. Related to this and working with other staff in the Health Board, the post holder will lead the implementation of employer responsibilities in relation to Good Medical Practice (GMC, 2013) and its related GMC standards and guidance. The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of work colleagues, visitors and patients within PTHB. This statutory duty is in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with the post. The post holder is expected to: Comply with the rules, policies, procedures and standards of PTHB, together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations. Observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff. Be responsible, with management support, for their own personal development and to actively contribute to the development of colleagues.
