Brookside Residential Home is a leading provider of residential care services in the UK. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Casual Kitchen Assistant to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Casual Kitchen Assistant with a passion for food preparation and service to join our kitchen team. As a Casual Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to our residents. If you have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to residents
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in the kitchen
* Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
* Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities
* Provide support to the Chef and other kitchen staff as required
Requirements:
* 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a residential care setting
* Food Safety and Handling certification (or willingness to obtain)
* Basic cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality or a related field
* Experience working with vulnerable adults or older people
* Knowledge of dietary requirements and restrictions
Example shift pattern: Week 1 = x3/12 hour days. Week 2 = x4/12 hour days, including Bank Holidays with every other weekend off, on a four weekly pay cycle.
As part of the vetting process, the successful candidate will need to undergo a DBS check and be able to provide references upon request.
